We’re the UK’s only EV battery manufacturer, and we’re recruiting for people to take up a career in our new Sunderland gigafactory. Currently under construction, the new 15.8GWh gigafactory is 30m high and 360m long – taller than the Angel of the North and longer than the Northern Spire Bridge.
We’ll need over 750 new roles to help us deliver our leading electric vehicle batteries to our customers, and a role with AESC UK offers great growth and development opportunities.

You’ll find our gigafactory in the heart of the region’s net zero evolution, on the International Advanced Manufacturing Park on International Drive, East Boldon - ideally located adjacent to the A1 and A19.

Who are AESC?
We’ve been manufacturing EV batteries in Sunderland since 2012, with over 50 million cells produced by our talented production team – the equivalent of 250,000 electric vehicles. With a strong track record of manufacturing lithium-ion batteries for over a decade, we’re proud to lead the way as the first EV battery gigafactory in Europe when production began here in 2012.
Across the globe, the AESC Group delivers sustainable large scale investment in electric battery development – with 9 gigafactories under construction and plans for 3 more.
